District Issues
Chelsea supports:
- fiscally prudent and sustainable planning for long-term growth, equity and socioeconomic balance in our District;
- increased communication about and accessibility to the Magnet and Theme School enrollment opportunities in our District;
- realistic and consistent District communication and engagement with our community on issues of equity and goals for increased achievement for all students, consistent with the implementation of our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP);
- increased and varied opportunities for parents and community members to actively provide input about and participate in discussions concerning District planning and decisions;
- parent/teacher/student-involved and district supported implementation of the new Common Core State Standards & Smarter Balanced tests and integration of technology into everyday learning;
- District funding of Physical Education, Music & Art Programming for all students;
- efforts to support our students by making wellness and nutrition a priority;
- implementation of logical and consistent strategies for safety at school sites;
- a unified calendar for all schools in our District;
- efforts to further reduce class size; and
- transparency, consistency, accountability, and accessibility of programs and supports for all students with disabilities.
